On the microscope day we looked at different tissues under the microscope. It was very interesting and I enjoyed this quite a lot. I find it very interesting to observe some of the muscles just because of the significant striations and patterns they contain. We observed (pictured)Lm
1: Stratified columnar epithelium.vpj
2: involuntary muscle.
3: cardiac muscle

3 Different types of muscle tissue
Cardiac
-located in the heart
-striated but not voluntary
-automatically contracts allowing the heart to beat
Smooth
-located in walls of hollow visceral organs
-role is to force fluids and other substances through internal body channels
Skeletal
-packaged into the skeletal muscle
-contains striations
-voluntary muscle only muscle type subject to conscious control

Skinning Day 3
Skinning in day three was big. We were making very fast progress and we were almost done. We had finished skinning the whole cat and now needed to skin the back. The back was tough because the fat pad near the head was a pain to get past. The skin also around the neck and face was extremely thick so that took a while to cut. Once an cut was made down the back, you only would have to cut the connective tissue and peel it back.
Skinning day 1
This was an exciting day for the first incision, we cut along the trunk of the body and extended it to the lower trunk, after that we would slowly peel he skin away from the muscle while scraping the connective tissue away from the muscle. This was pretty interesting to do, I was nervous at first and finally adjusted to it. This was very interesting for me and Matt and it has crossed our mind that pursuing a medical field might be an option when looking for a career.
External Observations
That day we examined all of Thors exterior features, such as, his head, his whiskers, his pinnae and other things. Our cat is a pretty hefty cat and we presumed hat there was going to be a lot of fat however we were mistaken. Also our cat was a boy and this was decided by obvious observations made by my brother and I. Looked forward to skinning the next day.
Day we met Thor
That was the day we met Thor. That day I learned about the scientific names for all of the exterior features. This was a rather odd experience for me, never having a pet before to be up close and personal with this dead cat.
